Adding a Fault Tolerant Service to the GIOTTO System
Alex Susu, Intern Student at EPFL-IC-IIF-MTC
Abstract: The GIOTTO system proposes a platform independent programming abstraction for real-time control applications. Dependability is a key element in these types of applications, since many of them are embedded in life-critical systems such as avionics and automotive equipment.
In this talk, Alex Susu briefly describes the GIOTTO technology. He presents design decisions and implementation details of a fault tolerance service for the GIOTTO system. He also gives an overview of static and dynamic replication techniques and talks about the tradeoffs between these two techniques.
